1 Toyota, 3,500km, 3 days and 50,000 photos. If you have ever wanted to travel to Central Australia here is the drive from Alice Springs to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland in 24min.
After many experiments and with the original idea (2yrs ago) still not done ($) here is my first large scale production.
Today instead of knowing country we teleport in and out via planes and gruelling road trips we want to forget. What gets lost is how everything connects, the spatial relationships.
All shot on the Canon 5Dmk2 DSLR a frame per 4 seconds direct to a Macbook Pro with an original score by Anthea Eadan. It got so hot we had to hang the MBP out the window to cool it down. Then use wet cloth when even the wind was too hot.
Due to Vimeo limitations (1gig per file even on plus) the full 1080HD version is only available on YouTube, but in 3 parts due to their limitations. Sigh.
A sequel is now in post production which uses everything learned from this one. It’s even bigger and will have workflow and making of videos.
Comments, questions and thoughts interest me.
